She wants to portray the mystery and power behind women in her paintings but wants each person to have their own interpretation of them.

Laura Gonzalez is a San Francisco Bay Area artist who emphasizes emotion in her paintings. As a feminist, she wants to portray women in their own, individual beauty. She paints sensual women not for the male gaze, but to counterbalance cultural attitudes that limit women and tell them they need to be chaste and appropriate.
