Alameda Invasion III

It’s been so great to work in Alameda, adjacent to Oakland’s Chinatown where we started in 2016 and spent many years creating murals with the community backing and participation. When we had our first Alameda opportunity it quickly led to two other additional volunteer jams off of Webster Street. We have been welcomed with open arms and Alameda is experiencing the power of our formula of community, collaboration, and creativity.

In addition to these three community sessions, we were very fortunate to do a professional mural on the Rodeway Inn motel wall which is the first eye-popping work of art you will see entering Alameda’s Webster Street Business District. We urge you to drive down Webster St. and explore the art. Of course, support a local small business while you’re there.

Below are a few photos from our most recent volunteer session earlier this month. The mural was designed and painted by artist Denis Dukhvalov, with painting assistance from local participants. The mural features wooden fairy doors that may or may not open. Guess you’ll need to explore to find out!
