DOWNTOWN LIVERMORE, CA • OCT 10 - DEC 06, 2026

30 elephants from The Great Elephant Migration are visiting the Bay Area for the first time. Greet them on their journey as they travel the world sharing a message of coexistence.

Three Thirty-Three Arts and Livermore Valley Arts proudly present The Great Elephant Migration: A Family Gathering – a two-month public art exhibition featuring 30 life-size sculptures of Indian elephants made from dried lantana plants.

From Saturday, October 10th through Sunday, December 6th, The Great Elephant Migration: A Family Gathering can be experienced in beautiful Downtown Livermore. The exhibit is free and accessible to all.

“Bringing the Great Elephant Migration to California gives our communities a unique opportunity to experience art while connecting with a global message of conservation and coexistence,” said Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan. “I’m proud to welcome this exhibition to Livermore and look forward to seeing it enjoyed throughout the Tri-Valley and East Bay.”

ABOUT THE GREAT ELEPHANT MIGRATION:
A FAMILY GATHERING

From India With Love

Magnificent Indian elephants are migrating across the world to inspire the human race to share space.

The Great Elephant Migration: A Family Gathering is a more intimate herd bringing the same joy, magic and purpose to smaller communities, gardens and cultural spaces. It carries the heart of the flagship exhibition, but in a smaller, nimbler format, allowing these wonderful elephants to wander into places where the full herd simply can’t.

Each sculpture is a faithful replica of a real wild elephant, known by name and personality to the people of the Nilgiri Hills in southern India, where elephants and people share one of the world’s most densely populated landscapes.

Created by Indigenous artisans of The Real Elephant Collective - Betta Karumba, Paniya, Kattunayakun and Soliga - the herd carries a simple idea. Across much of India, animals are not seen as threats to be removed, but as fellow lives to be respected.
